So much to write about! But everyone knows about it all
already so I’ll just add a few things;
1) Venus Williams has amazing legs
2) I love the story of how and why Mr Williams taught his
daughters to play
3) I never knew that doubles partners could be from
different countries to each other but I loved the Danish guy’s style when he
got interviewed and I really hope he does well in singles sometime soon.
4) The men’s final wasn’t a complete slaughter as the vast
majority of us had predicted. It was actually a really good game to watch and
now Andy Murray seems just as human as the rest of us!
5) Roger Federer’s twins are adorable. I did think it was a
shame that he was married but his wife is kind of
pretty and his kids are cute so yeah, good for him. (I love it when famous
people have proper families.)
6) When the roof came on, Federer was in his element and
though the tennis was good to watch, I think we all knew which way it was
going. The roof AND the grass? That’s like Federer’s ultimate court.
7) But to be honest, Federer’s kind of in a class of his own
with his jackets for the presentation and his little RF logo. So yeah, I want
to hate him for being so good at his game and beating Murray but he seems like
a nice enough guy and he’s cute so I hope he doesn’t disappear altogether when
he retires.
8) All in all it was a good championship. All the winners
deserved to win and I think Andy Murray’s Grand Slam victory should be coming
up soon. I can’t believe the whole tournament only lasts two weeks! Seems like
ages. And they’re using Wimbledon for the
Olympic tennis too which should be good. I have no idea how they’re going to
get Centre Court
back in good condition again. They must have some grass experts or something.
Unless they lay new turf which is just cheating. Maybe they’re going to leave
it and let it grow naturally. But they’ll want it looking good, won’t they?
Oh man, I was meaning to keep this short!
I haven’t really been
in the writing mood/zone whatever you want to call it since finishing that.
I’ve got ideas yeah, but I dunno. Nothing’s sticking with me long enough to
turn into a story. I need to do that Insomniac thing too. Hmmm…We’ll see.
There is quite literally torrential rain here. It was
seriously the worst I’ve seen on Friday morning. The weekend was OK but now
it’s started again. Woo hoo.
